Abstract:The Fifth Ring Road of Chengdu is an important rapid transportation corridor that supports the expressway network of city and serves the spatial development of the megacity and the interaction between urban and rural areas. The total length of the reconstruction section of Shuangliu District in the Fifth Ring Road is 21.4 km. Relying on the reconstruction of the existing Muhua Road and Shuangnan Avenue, the control factors are complex, the traffic volume is large, and the construction traffic organization is more difficult along the line. Combined with the functional positioning and construction conditions of the project, the design contents such as the overall route scheme, layout of cross-section, main and auxiliary road entrances and exits, interchange nodes, public transportation and pedestrian facilities are systematically set forth. The overall design principles of "safety, economy, applicability and environmental protection" are proposed. A three-level traffic organization strategy of "region - interval - working site" is proposed for the reconstruction projects of urban areas, and the staged construction and traffic guarantee schemes for typical nodes such as railway crossings are formulated. At present, the construction drawing design has been completed and the project has entered the construction phase. The relevant design ideas and technical measures can provide references for similar urban expressway reconstruction ad extension projects.
