Abstract:High modulus additive is commonly used to improve the modulus, anti-rutting and anti-fatigue performances of asphalt mixture. There are differences or contractions in the technical requirements for high modulus additives and high modulus asphalt mixture among different standards. The technical requirements for density, melt mass flow rate and ash content of high modulus additives of different standards are compared. The technical requirements for dynamic modulus, dynamic stability and fatigue life of high modulus asphalt mixtures of different standards are also compared. Meanwhile, tests are conducted on the density and ash content of the high modulus additives. When the standard is revised, the testing temperature for density of the high modulus additive should be specified, and the technical requirements for ash content and melt mass flow rate should be adjusted. The technical requirements of dynamic modulus for high modulus asphalt mixtures should include the specified values at 20 ℃ and 10 Hz, the technical requirements of dynamic stability should include the specified values at 60 ℃, and the technical requirements of fatigue life should include the specified values at 20 ℃ and 10 Hz. These specified values can be used as design parameters for the design of asphalt pavement.
