Abstract:To solve the problems of road congestion and intensified conflicts caused by the growth of urban motor vehicle ownership, in response to the high-congestion nodes at urban road intersections, and the shortcomings of traditional traffic management, such as extensive channelization and severe interference from motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles, the research is conducted on the micro-reconstruction projects of multiple urban road intersections in Xi'an. Adopting the optimization idea integrating refined concepts and intelligent technologies, a traffic management optimization scheme for intersections is established through the measures such as left-turn reversal, precise lane guidance, reshaping of non-motor vehicle road rights, and digital twin simulation preview. The engineering practice shows that after the implementation of the scheme, the traffic efficiency of typical intersections has increased by 50% to 84.9%, the congestion index has decreased by 15% to 45.86%, and the traffic order and safety level have been significantly improved. The research results can provide a reference for the governance of similar urban road intersections in China.
