Abstract:The Hongqiao Business District in Shanghai faces the transportation bottlenecks such as insufficient internal road network connectivity, uneven coverage of rail transit station areas, and absence of bus hierarchy function, which is difficult to support its high-standard development as the core carrier of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta. Based on the forecast of the permanent resident population, job positions and total travel volume in 2035, the medium-capacity network scale of 70~75 km is determined. Adhering to the principle of “functional mismatch with rail transit, strengthening regional connection, improving service level, and matching road conditions”, a channel network layout of “two verticals, three horizontals and two connections” is established, and the specific functions, starting and ending points, and transfer connection relationships of each channel are clearly defined. It is recommended to mainly adopt the BRT system, and the specific suggestions are put forward for the widening of the road red line and the reconstruction of lane scale of key channels. This scheme aims to complement the rail transit system, build an efficient backbone public transport main framework, break through the spatial barriers, enhance the radiation capacity of the hub, and strongly support the future integrated and coordinated development of the Hongqiao International Central Business District.
