Abstract:As an important part of the “One River and One Creek” Development Strategy in Shanghai, the middle and northern sections of Yangpu Waterfront bear multiple missions, including the transformation of traditional industrial zones, the agglomeration of scientific and technological innovation, and the construction of an ecologically livable area. As the core infrastructure for regional development, the operational efficiency of its transportation system directly determines the effectiveness of the transformation. Aiming at the prominent problems in this area, such as physical barrier fragmentation, unreasonable road network and insufficient public transport supply, the optimization strategies are proposed in combination with the regional development orientation and by drawing on the experience of transportation optimization in waterfront areas at home and abroad. It is suggested to construct a multi-dimensional road network system of “three vertical and fourteen horizontal lines”. The focus is on promoting the eastward shift of Metro Line 24 and TOD hub-based development. A diversified and shared public transport system is reconstructed. And a high-quality and continuous slow traffic network is built. The aim is to provide support for the high-quality transformation of the region and reference for the transportation optimization of similar waterfront industrial zones.
