Abstract:With the development and construction of the east area of Huairou Science City and the implementation of surrounding planned road networks, on the one hand, Mixin Road undertakes the transit traffic between Huairou and Miyun Districts, on the other hand, it solves the transportation distribution for commuting between the east and west areas of the Science City and the travel of villagers along the line, which has transformed from a traditional second-class highway into a typical urbanized area highway. The key points of highway upgrading and reconstruction schemes in urbanized areas mainly include the argumentation of the necessity of upgrading and reconstruction, the determination of road grade and lane number, the selection of design speed, the cross-sectional layout, the roadbed widening scheme, the pavement structure scheme and the material comparison. Combined with the Mixin Road Project, the in-depth analysis is conducted from the aspects of technical feasibility, energy conservation and environmental protection, economic rationality, and construction convenience. The determination process of each key design point is comprehensively and systematically expounded in order to provide reference and guidance for related projects.
