Abstract:Pavement roughness is one of the key indicators affecting the comfort and safety of road driving, directly influencing vehicle driving quality, road service life and social and economic benefits. The appropriate and effective detection methods are of vital importance to the project. With the continuous advancement of detection technologies, the detection method of pavement roughness has evolved from traditional contact measurements to modern high-precision non-contact detection. The research progress in roughness detection technologies is systematically reviewed. Firstly, the definition and application of key evaluation indices, such as the international roughness index (IRI) are expounded. And then, the principles and limitations of traditional detection methods, including section-type and response-type approaches are analyzed. The focus is on the discussion of the advantages and application prospects of modern advanced detection technologies such as laser scanning technology, digital image processing, inertial measurement systems and comprehensive inspection vehicles. At the same time, the performance characteristics of different detection technologies are compared, and the future development trends such as intelligence, multi-technology integration and standardization are prospected, which can provide theoretical references for the selection and optimization of road detection technologies.
