Abstract:As a large-capacity, high-speed and intensive public transportation, the urban rail transit plays an irreplaceable role in improving urban road traffic, and optimizing and upgrading the transportation system. Based on field surveys, the changes in traffic volume in peak morning hours, signal delay and service level at major intersections on Jingshi Road are compared before and after the opening of Jinan Metro Line 4. On this basis, the quantitative relationship between metro passenger flow and intersection delay is analyzed. A quadratic model between the both is established through function fitting. Finally, the relevant data from several other intersections on Jingshi Road are substituted for verification. The error between the model prediction results and the actual survey data is not more than 15%, indicating a high degree of agreement.
