Abstract:Urban road occupation operations, as a temporary traffic organization method in urban construction and maintenance, often directly affect road traffic capacity and traffic safety by occupying the space of motor vehicle lanes, non-motored vehicle lanes and sidewalks. To address the above issues, the influence mechanism of the road-occupying operation area on the traffic capacity is first analyzed from multiple aspects of lane reduction, insufficient radius of the circular curve, insufficient lane width, and insufficient consideration of the slow traffic system. And the non-linear coupling and amplification effects among these multiple indicators are revealed. On this basis, a hierarchical adaptive design countermeasure based on “traffic demand - spatial constraints - economic cost” is proposed. The research results can provide a theoretical basis and practical reference for the scientific organization of traffic in road-occupying operation areas, helping relieve the traffic congestion, improve the operational efficiency of the road network and reduce the potential safety hazards.
