Abstract:With the continuous deepening of urbanization process in China, the drainage facilities in old urban areas have been operating under high load for a long time. Drainage pumping stations generally suffer from problems such as aging and wear of pumps, high energy consumption, low automation level, and prominent conflicts among pumping stations and the local residents. Therefore, it is urgent to implement the systematic renewal and reconstruction. In response to the current problems, it is proposed that the renewal and reconstruction of drainage pumping stations should follow the principles of “overall planning, improving functions, economic and energy-saving, and intelligent management”, which not only ensure the stable and safe operation of the pumping stations, but also properly resolve the conflicts among the pumping stations and the local residents. Based on typical engineering examples, the reconstruction content and engineering benefits of a certain old pumping station are elaborated in detail, providing the operational reference basis and engineering guidance for the decision-making and design of renewal and reconstruction of similar old urban drainage pumping stations in the old urban areas, and helping to promote the quality improvement and efficiency enhancement of the urban drainage system.
